Celebration Inspiration

Tomorrow is the birthday of a lady who has a big heart and it seemed to me that the following quote reflects her gifts from the heart, as the best and most beautiful things are mainly given from the heart also. Enjoy the day Bernie.

“The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched – they must be felt with the heart”
Helen Keller

Simply Raw – Recipe

To compliment the Wholefood Trivia posts I will post a few Raw Recipe options, only if simple (or simply delicious perhaps) as I am not an expert Raw Foodie and these will be “borrowed” mostly. As mentioned previously I usually stick to a few salad choices and a tasty, simple dressing and STIR. This one is a definite untested by me….but is something like I would throw together, have fun with it.

Tangy Chickpea Salad

250g Chickpeas (soaked or canned)
4 Tomatoes
2 sticks Celery
1 red Onion
250g Corn fresh or canned
1 Red Capsicum
1 Avocado

2 tbsp Apple cider vinegar
1 tbsp Olive oil
Juice of 1 Lemon juice
1 tbsp Agave or Honey
2 cloves minced Garlic
1 fresh Chili finely chopped
Celtic Sea Salt & cracked pepper to taste

Finely chop all the salad ingredients, place into a salad bowel with the chickpeas and corn

Place all the dressing ingredients in a jar or bottle and shake well, pour over the salad and serve over cooked brown rice or with your favorite meal.

***You might like to adjust the dressing quantities to suit your personal taste.

Celebration Inspiration

Today is the birthday of a friend who embraces the motivation and search towards peace, hence this Universal Peace Prayer is chosen on this day to inspire us all in our peaceful desires. Timely inspiration never fails to deliver on time.

Shaped by Satish Kumar and read for the first time publicly in London, the capital of my friends birth country, by none other than Mother Teresa, in the Anglican Church, St. James, Piccadilly.

Each day at noon people of all faiths and None are encouraged to use this prayer, it acts as an invitation to work together one and all, while assisting all of us towards consistent goodwill.

Lead me from death to Life,
from falsehood to Truth;
Lead me from despair to Hope,
from fear to Trust;
Lead me from hate to Love,
from war to Peace.
Let Peace fill our Heart,
our world, our Universe.

NB: Remember to achieve Peace, we need to Release (the barriers within ourselves), and to Heal we need to Feel (all that builds the barriers to peace)…….From Me….

Celebration Inspiration

Today it is my turn, I love the number 7, and many of the things it relates to; have and do fascinate me when I contemplate them….7 Systems of the Body, 7 Basic Chakras, 7 Principles of Sustaining Life, 7 Colours of the Rainbow (More about these as time goes on perhaps). Also the fact I was born on the 7th day of the month, the 7th day of the year and when I add the day, month and year born and bring it back to a single number it is a 7!!!
I am posting 2 Celebration Inspirations today,,,the first for my birthday and the second for a friend whose birthday was 26th December… (who loves following political history so is quite apt)…

It has been told that a certain spiritual teacher was taken to the movies, to see Walt Disney’s Fantasia, by some of his students. A person in the row behind was heard to say with awe: “can you imagine the imagination of the man who imagined this!”. The teacher turned to one of the students and said “can you imagine the imagination of the force that imagined the existence of a man who could imagine a film like this?”
What are we doing with our Gift of Imagination???

One thing is sure.
We have to do something.
We have to do the best we know how at the moment…
If it doesn’t turn out right, we can modify it as we go along.
